Akash's solution leverages underutilized capacity within on-premise and colocated information centers around the globe and repurposes it to host containerized applications at dramatically reduced costs. Akash's auction-driven market matches companies with slack compute capability, known in the Akash system as services, with renters that wish to use providers’ resources. These decentralized transactions are executed with all the Akash token, which is used for staking and payments.
